This overhanging rock, the former refuge of the wizard Maugis, as the legend goes, cousin and protector of the Four Aymon Sons, is dominated by Dardennor.
This imaginary knight symbolises the fight against injustice, it was made by Eric Sleziak, a sculptor hailing from Bogny-sur-Meuse and creator of Woinic. The Four Sons of the Duke Aymon: Renaud, Allard, Richard and Guichard lived at the court of Charlemagne. Following a quarrel during a game of chess, Renaud killed the Emperor’s nephew, which obliged the four brothers to flee the ire of Charlemagne.
