Nestled in the hollow of the Sormonne Valley, the village of Châtelet-sur-Sormonne is guarded by a tower that overlooks the river. This is the Daudèce Tower, all that’s left of the old fortified house (extensively altered). It was apparently built on a very old site, because some Roman coins were found there in partial demolitions in 1792.
